This book is the perfect, fast-paced, classic enemies to lovers plot that satisfies my soul perfectly. I didn't even realize I was in the mood for this kind of story but oh boy did it satisfy my mood. The romance and spice elements were perfectly integrated into the plot, so it never felt forced or out of place. I have so many questions about some of the side characters and I cannot wait to see if we learn more about them later on in the series. I also really enjoyed the LGBTQ+ acceptance that was a component of this world-building. I don't tend to read books where LGBTQ+ elements are part of the plot, so I really enjoyed that here. The slow burn combined with cliffhanger ending here has left me needing more. The worst thing about reading eARCs is the extended, unknown wait time for the next book in the series. I need book two of this series already.
