I love Penelope and Colin. I love how he falls for her mind before her beauty. I would have preferred that Penelope remain more curvy like in the show. The “ugly duckling” storyline isn't really my thing. She is gorgeous regardless of her size, and I dislike the narrative that she needs to lose weight to find love. That being said this is still an excellent book. I love the witty banter, and playfulness of Penelope and Colin. 

For me is another case of the book is better. It doesn't change how much I absolutely adore the show though. I'm just really enjoying the friendships and relationships in the books over the show. 🤷‍♀️
