The Viridian Priestess
by Katrina Calandra
I really wanted to like this book more than I did. A friend recommended it to me as a mando fanfic style book. As a person who is not really into spicy books, but into sci-fi, I decided to try it. I like the characters, especially August. The worlds are interesting, but I wish there was more descriptions and depth to them.
The sex scenes literally killed me. She is a religious priestess and she’s talking about her p**sy?! Using the term ass, c*nt, etc really killed it all for me. Didn’t flow with the book imo, ACOTAR does better in this respect.
Will I read the next one? Probably. But I hope this series is similar with ACOTAR with the second book being better.
There were times where I was like “wait, what is happening?” Like when 99 comes and August is apparently waiting at the ship. The writing almost makes it seem like he’s keeping it a secret from Ferren that he’s dead or something. Or when she is healing at the second world, does she hate these other ladies or not? Giving me whiplash.
But I finished it, somewhat enjoyed it, sorry if my complaints come off worse than I mean. It’s an okay book, just had some jarring moments and writing style.
