Oh man, reading this took me BACK. Michael Grant just can't fail me. The Gone series was a huge part of my pre-teen/growing up years and definitely one of the first series that drove me crazy in that amazing way that only books can do.
It felt so epic to be back in this world. Seeing some old characters- Dekka, do me a favor and stop being such a bad-ass. It's too much for me! And holy crap, - as well as incredible new ones, who were all introduced in that fascinating and engaging way that Grant uses to introduce all characters, was all just fantastic.
Really enjoyed how many people ate some of the rock and watching that manifest in different ways. The FAYZ is back!
There were some epic battles, a lot of gore, fun/unexpected team-ups, including Good humor and writing and such. All around, an entertaining and epic read! Really looking forward to the next book, as well as [b:Purple Hearts|35068453|Purple Hearts (Front Lines, #3)|Michael Grant|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1501469518s/35068453.jpg|56363914]. (That's how you know an author is one of your favorites; you're highly anticipating more than one book from them, at the same time!)

Drake. This has been a character that's genuinely instilled fear in me for MANY years of my life, and here he goes again! Also, Diana's appearance was wonderful, and I'm so excited that Sam Temple has officially entered the picture.
