Agatha Raisin and the Love from Hell by M.C. Beaton

5.0

4.5 stars! Agatha is back in Carsley with Charles, and this is when Agatha is at her best.

I'm shocked how many reviewers complain about not liking Agatha when reviewing books 10 and 11 of this series, as if they couldn't have stopped reading after book 1. Or book 3. Or book 9. Agatha is absolutely deeply flawed, but she is also very *human*. I adore how she agrees to do things and then regrets that decision. I appreciate how she frequently just says things that need to be said. I empathize with the way her insecurities so frequently trigger her errors.

Audiobook narrator Penelope Keith gets 5 stars.
