Dividing Eden
by Joelle Charbonneau
The book narrates the tale of two twins who are both thrown into a whirlwind of events after the death of their father and brother. None of them want to be the next monarch, yet both of them are supposed to fight each other in the trials of succession while unmasking the true killer of their father and brother and save their kingdom from going into jeopardy.
Both of them are flawed in a way, and both of them keep it a secret from everyone except each other. I really like how the stakes start to increase with every passing day and how their personalities and motives start to change as the trials progress. How the dynamics of their relationships play out and changes with the circumstances they are put in. I also like how the villains and hero are not established at the very start but you’re supposed to make your decision with every set of knowledge you seem to posses. And even after the book has ended, you’re still sceptical about some characters and how this is gonna play out.
Can’t wait to read the next book!
