shuopio 's review for:
A Memory of Light
by Brandon Sanderson, Robert Jordan
I listened the whole series as audiobooks so it was literally hundreds of hours spent in elaborately described fantasy. Due to the format I cannot spell or even recognise a single noun invented for the world, an there are huge amount of them, especially names of characters, regions and tribes. The late author used a lot of words for everything, quite a lot of repetition and re-re-explanation of some habits and consepts. There was still a sense of constant development, of both the protagonists and the usage of the one power and the overall quality of storytelling which kept me going. .. and after reading half of the books one just had to find out how the last battle would turn out in the end! ;)
This last book and the whole series was enjoyable experience, especially as audiobooks. I think I would have been disheartened many times before the moon-reaching pile of huge tomes.
