The Jasad Crown by Sara Hashem

5.0

Omfg I have to collect my tears and thoughts. This book was everything you could hope for in a duology ending. I was so scared because so much was happening, and I was TERRIFIED of the ending. This is one of my all-time favorite series, it is beyond unique. It has some crowd favorite tropes that will draw the reader in, but Hashem could have easily made this a giant series and built out the magic system 10x more than she build out in the two books. I will never get over Arin and Essiya/Sylvia, they are God-tier to me, I enjoyed watching them grow together this book. Arin lost so much control while Essiya gained so much power and control over her people, it was interesting to watch their role's reverse. I cannot say too much as this review will not only spoil the first book but also this book. But just know I was reduced to tears and heartbreak and then immense joy on the last page. It was a rollercoaster of emotions in the last 40% of the book and I am overjoyed with the way it ended. If you love romantasy, unique magic systems, enemies to lovers, Egyptian-inspired world embroiled in a political game then this is the duology for you. Hashem is a fantastic writer, and I fell in love with all the characters effortlessly. She is an automatic buy for me always.
