Although a little slow to start, I really enjoyed this story. It is very different to a lot of the rock star romance I usually read but it's still very good. The story itself is very emotional and sweet. The guys of Blue Fire are hot, yet a tender bunch and boy do they know how to look after their women, and Calix is really no different.

Except for the fact he is dealing with the loss of his brother, and a family he feels is falling apart but one he is determined to save, even at the expense of himself, his career and Mimi. As chef for Blue Fire, Mimi is determined for more, and that means landing a job with her dad. He, however keeps coming up with reasons as to why she is not ready, and is disapproving of her idea to enter a cooking competition on national tv, to gain the experience she believes her dad requires. This is when Calix dad Terrance steps in and suggests Calix help Mimi learn what she needs in order to win the competition, and hopes in doing so it will breath new life into his wife Jo. Who has completely withdrawn from her family since the death of her youngest child. Calix is torn, but after three years of watching his mum struggle, Calix will do anything and as Mimi is drawn into the family, she can't help but get involved and becomes determined to get the whole family moving forward even if at times her ideas and suggestions are a little misguided.

Overall a really great story and the relationship that developed between Calix and Mimi, was lovely to read and at times hot, but what I loved most is when things went wrong, Mimi didn't forgive easily and she really made Calix work to prove he could change and would ultimately put her first and it made the story much more believable and real. In fact I really didn't want the story to end, and I'm sure I will be rereading this book a lot in the future. I would also happily recommend it to others, and I'm looking forward to reading more from this series and hope maybe Lee (Calix sister) and Ben will feature next.
