If you want to save time, don’t read this book. If you do, only read the first 100 pages or so. While the initial part about the invention of clocks and standard time and the relationship with colonialism was good, the mess that followed really made the whole book tedious. Jenny Odell writes a long annotated bibliography of random sources, many of which sound worth reading, but sadly her book itself is not.
