Sugar Daddies by Jade West
5.0

Having an absolute fit over trying to get through another 500+ page Maas book, I needed the delightful, exhilarating break that reading erotica brings. When I downloaded "Sugar Daddies" to my Kindle Library, I was looking for something short, steamy, and distracting. I found all of those things, mind you, but I also found a lot more...

Trigger Warnings: Parental Abandonment, Abuse, Mention of Drug Use, EXPLICIT sexual scenes

This book is an absolute must read if you want the best of all worlds; a gorgeous girl with a heart of gold, a bossy rich man with a past, and a stunning, creative tattooed god practically dripping with sex appeal. (Seriously, there's a tongue piercing mentioned no less than ten times. Each even more glorious than the last!) And the best part of it all, Bisexual and Poly rep!!!

*SPOILERS*

Katie was and was not the typical "horsey girl" I expected her to be. Yes, her dream was to own a beautiful yard for horses, and house her absolute prized horse, Samson; but oh.. she wanted more than that. Just when I thought she was going to be the typical heroine, she surprised me.

With every new event in the book, something unexpected thrown her way, she handled it all like... dare I say it; an adult?? I often find that heroines of romance novels act quite childlike, despite often being well into their twenties. At just 21, my own age, she was able to take on big responsibilities and handle a very complicated relationship. Katie was written extremely well.

Now, that brings me to Rick and Carl. My, how I love this couple. I have not read a lot of books with Poly rep, but I am glad to say that this has been one of the best ones. While there was a little bit of jealousy, some miscommunication, and perhaps all-around pig-headedness... The love between Rick and Carl stayed strong, all the while trying to navigate what they both wanted from Katie.

The balance in this book between an old love, a new love, and LOTS of passion... was sublime. It is quite the understatement when I say I am EAGER to read more of Jade West's books.
