Red at the Bone by Jacqueline Woodson

this was just so good. the switching narratives and shifting time periods were done so well and allowed you to really get to know these characters despite it being such a short book. i was pleasantly surprised by the exploration of sexuality later in the book, as i went into this book pretty blindly. jacqueline woodson is such a gifted storyteller!
