Abby Invents Unbreakable Crayons by Arlyne Simon
5.0
Abby and her friends love to color. But each time, it’s the same problem : the crayons break ! Inspired by Inventor Maya, the young girl decides to create the first unbreakable crayons.
This book is great ! Through the misadventures of Abby, the child (and the adult !) can learn the progression of the scientific method. We follow Abby through the very beginning of the problem, the crayons break, to the achievement of her discovery, the invention of the first unbreakable crayons. Each step of the work is very well described and the book is really enjoyable to read.
The book is written by Dr. Arlyne Simon, who is a scientist herself. I really love how she encourages children to be inventors as well. The illustrations by Diana Necsulescu are really fun and colorful.
