I enjoyed this book thoroughly. It is the first fantasy book I’ve actually sat down and really enjoyed in a LONG time. The characters were diverse and complex, each with their own clear motivation. Bardugo juggled the five narrators’ voices with ease. Every couple chapters I was hit with a surprise I had NOT been anticipating and I enjoyed playing catch up with the characters, as all of us tried to figure out what Kaz had done.

I am finishing this review and am going to start the second book right now.
