The Chief by Monica McCarty
4.0
This was my first Monica McCarty book but it sure won't be the last. The style of McCarty's writing and the story itself reminded me very much of Julie Garwood's Scottish romances.
I like the concept and all the male characters. I loved the chief but I didn't really warm up to the heroine. She wasn't a strong enough leading lady and I failed to understand exactly why the hero fell in love with her given her selfish and childish antics (maybe I'm being unfair because she loves Lancelot and Guinevere so much and I just can't understand what's so great about a knight that breaks his oath to his king and a lady that's cheating on her husband.. But that's probably just me.). Her character knocked off one star from my rating.
There was so much actual story with sporadic (really well written) love scenes that fit the characters and story arch.
I am looking forward to reading the other books in this series and other books by this author.
