This was the longest short book I have read in a long time. It was very difficult to read so I had to put it down and take breaks quite often. It was too real, and as someone who has worked closely with both of the issues that are brought up in this book, it was a very uncomfortable read. I would not recommend this for anybody who cares about animals deeply. However, this is very real life, and the unresolved ending is a perfect reflection of that.
