The Audient and The Phantom Night by Sadie Hewitt

4.0

I usually don't do audiobooks because I find it hard to pay attention, and I'll probably spell all of the names wrong, but here we go.

I really liked this one. Devlin Cato is the captain of the Phantom Night, a spectre ship that barters souls for time served aboard as crew. Fenna is trying to save her idiot brother, and ends up aboard the Phantom Night and trading herself into service for him, taking her brother's place on the ship.

Devlin takes a liking to Fenna, and finds himself drawn to her fierceness and stubbornness. As they come to terms with their situation, Fenna learns quickly to be a part of the crew. But of course, Dassos can't give up trying to make decisions for her, and comes after her.

Fighting for survival and the chance to make her own choices, Fenna must decide if she will stay on the Phantom Night with Devlin, or to go back to the capital with her brother.
