Stuart Little
by E.B. White
For some reason I thought I'd read this years and years ago in a children's literature class, but when I started listening to it in the car with my son, I realized I had not ever read it before.
We loved some of the descriptions - the little clothes and accessories are kind of fun - and I loved the tension between Stuart and the family cat. However, the ending was so abrupt and so unsatisfactory. I had to search around to see if there was sequel so I could know what happened to Margalo.
There were a few other things that just didn't fit well with the story - Stuart substitute teaching and his "date" with Harriet - I would stick with the Ralph S. Mouse series by Beverly Cleary any day over this one.
