Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

This book perfectly explores the complexity of humanity. I especially love how it’s framed like a non-fiction memoir while remaining distinct from real life. Evelyn Hugo is so easy to hate
even if I don’t have the same personal reason to do so as Monique
but I couldn’t help but love and admire and look up to her. Just a perfectly complex and utterly human character. I can see why this book has gripped readers the way it has in the past few years. It deserves every accolade it has received.
