Acts of Desperation by Megan Nolan

4.5

God. This novel. Short, tender chapters about desire, sexual betrayal, and self harm in Ireland. I have a soft spot in my heart for twenty-something fuck ups, recovering alcoholics, recovering from self-harm, unable to escape their tender spiralling. I see parts of myself and others that I want to embrace and save and make happy. In short: Megan Nolan's writing is fantastic, but the second half of the book has a lot of hard moments.
