This is my favourite so far in the Venomous Gods series. I read Poisonous Kiss in 24 hours. Right from the set up for why Fumi ended up in this arranged marriage I knew I was in for a good time. Imagine Gabriel’s surprise when his fake wife is perfect for more than just his political persona?
I loved that Gabriel had two very different sides, the political golden boy while we follow his campaign, and a darker “monster” side that comes out to play in the dark. He was such a fun character to read. Who doesn’t love a vigilante antihero? I already liked Fumi when we saw her in one of the previous books, and I am so glad we got her story. I loved her strength, her background and everything that she worked through in this book.
As was the case with the previous books in the series, the spice wasn’t exactly my taste. I don’t typically seek out BDSM books. For those who DO seek it out, you’re going to absolutely LOVE this one. This was extra spicy and these characters are quite the pair! We’re talking electric chemistry.
Even knowing it was not something I typically reach for, I didn’t hesitate to pick it up because I’ve come to trust that Jagger Cole will deliver a fast paced, exciting and unique story, full of twists and turns. Poisonous Kiss did exactly that.I look forward to reading Kratos’ story in Corrupted Heart!
