The Echo of Regret by Jillian Liota

challenging emotional hopeful medium-paced

4.0

This book was a really enjoyable second chance, small town, baseball romance. Thank you Jillian and Grey's Promotion, for sending me the ARC.

Bishop and Gabby's story is a great golden retriever x black cat, reverse grumpy x sunshine. Gabby isn't afraid to tell you how it is, and I love that about her. Learning their story of miscommunication and how it led to their break up was so sad for me, since these two seem to have been end game since junior high. It led to a great second chance story when Bishop has to move home after an injury in his first minor league game.

The ways these two wiggle their way back into each other's lives were so fun. They both end up working at the high school together, they start to hang out and build their friendship back up, and the way they show they care for each other is really sweet. I loved the way their story ended.
