This absolutely incredible book is chock-full of a lot of technical science jargon. (And believe me, I did look up IBD. It is real, and it is terrifying.) It means that, at times, this isn't an easy read. Then there is the gut-wrenching views of grief, also making it difficult. But if you can accept those things, you are in for a goddamn beautiful story, written masterfully.
Graphic: Alcoholism, Animal cruelty, Body horror, Confinement, Gore, Blood, Medical content, Grief, Pandemic/Epidemic
Moderate: Eating disorder
