Joe is creepy. Caroline Kepnes gets props for transporting the reader inside the mind of a complete psycho. But, unlike some reviews, I did not care about his feelings. Maybe because I was stalked? Maybe because psychological thrillers aren’t my cup of tea these days? But, I did need to know what Joe was going to do next...so I kept reading. I do wish the author wrote more about Joe's back story. Like, what happened in his past to make him how he is? The snippets of his childhood were vague. Beck was super shallow & drove me nuts. I think a few twenty somethings would relate to her.

The bad: How does Joe accomplish his crimes and remain free? His messy murders are basic police & forensic science work. It’s like these things ceased to exist? So weird. I mean, obviously the main theme is for Joe to get away with it, but if you can't make it believable, you’ve lost me. The cell phone, e-mail hacks, Tweets & FB Posts. All traceable, even when this book was published. I didn’t buy it at all. The only thing Joe was worried about was his pee...lol. The crashed Buick which wasn’t registered to him & repaired by the cops? The lack of security cameras at super rich Peach’s homes? Lol. I could go on & on.

Sorry Ms. Kepnes, but there are too many psychological thrillers that do get it right. I used to read them. Sidney Shelton, Stephen King, even Gone Girl got me.

Will I read Hidden Bodies? Nope. But, I will be curious about what happens...so there’s that. Right now I’m going to find a cute, love story & snuggle with my cat. All the warm & fuzzies on deck!
