I had previously read the Lux series books, and this was one I had been highly anticipating due to that. It gave me a new insight to the "other side" of the story so to speak. And the perspective was almost shocking.
I have enjoyed most of Armentrout's books, immensely. This one was no different. Though the story/plot line was much like others by her and I was left wishing it could have just a little something more.
The sex scenes were steamy but, at times lacked that something that draws you in leaving you wanting it to last forever.
It is good as a stand alone just to become attached to Hunter and Serena and entangled in their star crossed love affair that begins in the midst of tragedy and trauma, and evolves into one for the ages. But, is a good companion book to the Lix series as well, so long as you are 18+ ;)
