Honestly as soon as I read the title of this book, I knew I had to read it. Indiana Jones romcom where Indiana is a kickass Latina? Sign me up! And it was absolutely delightful. Enemies to lovers isn’t usually my trope of choice but I think it was done well here. I liked the character development where both of them learn to open up and acknowledge the ways in which they both contributed to the “enemies” part. And the dig was a fun and tense adventure, very much in the spirit of an Indiana Jones or Mummy movie. The only problem I really had was that “the grovel” of the hero just wasn’t quite enough for me. He’s still an adorable hero and I liked him but I wanted something a little more for the grovel. It’s not really bad; there are genuine attempts at groveling and character growth. And I can’t say what more I really wanted, but it just didn’t quite seem like enough to balance out the jerk behavior. Still a very enjoyable book and I would totally read the further adventures of these two!
Minor: Sexual harassment and Terminal illness
Ford’s mother has a serious illness that requires expensive treatment so he is often worried about her. Corrie experiences a sexual harassment but not much of it is on page and it’s not graphic.
