I wasn't expecting this book to be a quality read, but it was even less good than I had anticipated. The entire narrative is heavy on tell and light on show so that by the end, only a couple of things have actually happened (seriously, can we get some evil twin action up in here?). Add to that the Todd thinks with his penis/Jessica is a heartless bitch/Elizabeth is a wounded puppy storyline has been abused to death in previous series, and you end up more nostalgic as you go because it's been done much better. Characterization is shallow, though not unexpectedly so given the source material, and the first-person narration scenes were tediously inauthentic. The only reason I kept reading was to hear more about the characters I actually liked. I didn't. It's very the Liz/Todd/Jess show, and we'd all have been better off if the whole thing were condensed and published on a bar napkin.

More than one star for Bruce and Winston, even if they're not the Bruce and Winston I know and love.
