The weight of the premise of this book carries it hard but the characters put in their fair share too.
There were alot of parts of this book I really didn't want to read (do we really have to know how horny Garraty is rn?? Not to mention the very 1979 racism and homophobia) But defo a good read especially if you like dystopian horror.
I really appreciated the ways Stephen King shows that these are still children like the group raspberry salute and Garraty struggling to find a comeback better than "you have skidmarks!".
Very excited for the film adaptation.
