Little Dinners with the Sphinx, and Other Prose Fancies by Richard Le Gallienne
4.0
This was a surprise for me. It is a short story collection by an English author and poet. His poet background shows in some of the stories.
The quality of the stories are varied, but in general they are calm, sensitive pieces. "The Death of the Poet" is a short piece describes a peaceful goodbye a dying man tries to have. "The Butterfly of Dreams" is a love story that uses butterflies. "Eva, The Woodland and I" is another short gem representing the eternal father-daughter love. "The Dream Documents" is an entrancing short story about parting and starting new life.
The stories are riddled with poems, showing his background and they are lyrical. I enjoyed the stories and would like to read this author again.
