What Angels Fear by C.S. Harris
4.0

In the shadow of King George III's madness, a beautiful young actress is found raped and murdered in a church in London. Evidence points to Sebastion St. Cyr, Viscount Devlin. St. Cyr served in the Napoleonic war for years as an intelligence officer. When they attempt to arrest him, he escapes and goes into hiding. He finds some allies to help him prove his innocence and dives headfirst into his investigation.

I really enjoyed this book. Sebastion St. Cyr is a broken hero who may be able to find himself again in this search. The characters around him are multi-layered and yet formulaicly appropriate to the Regency genre. Along with action, adventure, romance and social criticism, there is political intrigue.

This is a full book that manages to also be an easy read. That is hard to achieve, but the author did. I can't wait to get further on in this series.
