this was cute! so many people have been telling me to read Emily Henry so I had very high expectations going into this book.

overall, I thought it was a cute story, I instantly fell in love with alex and poppy individually as characters. they are such a great pair and I really loved their story. I also thought the banter was great and it was genuinely really funny, i very rarely ever laugh out loud when i read.

The reason I gave this a 3.75 is because I didn’t love as much as I was anticipating. I feel like there were definitely moments where it dragged on and this book was definitely way too long and did not have to be as long as it was.

I found myself just being bored and trying to just get through it to find out what happened and for them to get together. but once they did get together, I thought that their love was very adorable and their monologues that they were given to each other. I thought they were super cute!!!

I was expecting what happened in Croatia to be a lot bigger and make a lot more sense as to why they stopped talking for 2 years. they hyped up their disconnect so much throughout the entire book, the whole time your going through the years waiting to find out what actually happened, and when I read the chapter I was just underwhelmed since this was the reason they stopped talking and threw away 10 years of friendship.

but aside from that, and a few other problems I had with it, (the sad puppy dog eye thing got old the first time. WHY DID THEY KEEP BRINGING IT UP IT WAS SO CRINGE) I thought it was a cute book!
