We're working away through the "1,001 Children's Books You Must Read Before You Grow Up" list - at least, all of the ones available at our library, which is only about 50% so far. This is a simple story about a girl who spends summer vacation with her grandfather collecting little odds and ends and watching a storm. It's not a particularly poetic telling, and there isn't much of a plot, but my daughter liked it and asked me to read it twice. It's quiet, gentle - a reassuring read.
