I tried to read this once and didn't make it past the first 30 pages. I checked it out again and once I got past that same beginning part, I found myself engrossed. I think the book opens in too grim and detached a way, for me personally. I didn't connect to the main character until later on.
I ended up quite liking this, and it was a story, once I got going, that kept me reading.
