To Catch a Raven

I like the love hate relationship Raven and Braxton start with. The banter was delicious!!! The chemistry was poppin! But the pacing and tension in this story aren’t a fit for me.
Jenkins started resolving the conflict way too soon. About 40% of the way through and they were basically together. Plus the first 25% of the book all the other characters were constantly talking about their wedding, their future babies, etc.
Yes, it was because Dorrie prophesied they would be together. But it was too much too soon! It took the edge right off the conflict.
Also they promised a fake marriage and an undercover operation? But at 50% that whole plot was *just* getting started? I’m tapping out.
But I will absolutely try Beverly Jenkins’s other historical fiction work, because I love to see BIPOC led historical romance!
