Lie with Me by Philippe Besson
4.0

A beautiful, relatively short novel about lost love. It is the sequel or spin-off of CMYN that we all needed, but somehow even better. Written by Philippe Besson and translated by Molly Ringwald, Philippe reflects on the intense relationship he had with Thomas when he was 17. The way he describes that first true love is so beautiful, so intense and raw and will leave you in silence for quite a bit after reading. Often called the french Brokeback Mountain, it might not have cowboys but if definitely has that secretive forbidden aspect that make it so sad but beautiful.
