A funny, imaginative and sweet urban fantasy, this has a slight feel of 'The Dresden Files' with a more diverse cast of characters. It's fun and fast paced, there's a lot of characters to take in but they are engaging enough that it doesn't take long to get a solid idea of each. It's light-hearted, although there are some darker themes which are handled well. The fantasy setting also allows for an orginal look at body and gender identity, and there are some other interesting and original concepts regarding gods, demons and the afterlife.
However the best endorsement I can give this book is that before I had even finished, I knew I would want more and would be eagerly awaiting the next one in the series.
