I was concerned this wouldn’t hold up to the first book and I’m very happy to say that I was wrong!
I just love Istvahn and Clara so much. I laughed, I almost cried a few times, I rooted for them the whole time. So refreshing to have a romance between adults, portrayed realistically with all the realities of having lived a full life and your body starting to pay the price.
Genuinely I think this series has ruined me for any other fantasy romance going forward. A perfect balance between world-building, plot, romance, humor, and side characters.
