Operation Fake Relationship by Jay Northcote
4.0
Operation Fake Relationship is another great festive story from Jay Northcote.
Best friends, Nick and Jackson, play at being fake boyfriends as Nick travels back to his parents home for Christmas for his first visit in several years. Issues with his family mean that Jasckon's support is really important but neither expect things to turn physical or to bring true feelings into the mix.
Jackson has been crushing for quite a while but getting to be so close to Nick is hard for him but he's just happy to be able to help his best friend with something he knows will be especially hard. He's definitely a good influence on Nick as well as he provides a different perspective to things that are happening/being said. Nick clearly has some things that he's still dealing with when it comes to family, though mostly his father. Having Jackson there means the world to him and it actually shows him in a different light as they act the roles of boyfriends with hand holding and kisses beneath the mistletoe. I liked how things evolved for the MC's and their relationship but also how everything unfolds between Nick and his family. With them being apart for so long, people can change but it definitely takes work from both sides to be able to move forward.
I love reading Jay's stories as they truly give an English Christmas experience and the setting is beautiful and wonderfully descriptive. Definitely a recommended read for me.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.
