Bit of a mixed bag for me. I liked the writing well enough, but the interpretation of the facts was very loose in this one. There was so much foreshadowing that could have been done interestingly, but it was way overdone in my opinion. It felt like Gregory had obvious favourites from the historical characters and that made the story quite repetitive. It took me super long to finish this. As usual I enjoyed he way she writes female friendships and companionships, but that alone was not enough to make me really like the book.
