She Gets the Girl is very sweet and really shows the fear and hope that comes from leaving high school and going to college. Some of the plot is rather convenient, but it works out well enough for the genre.

The biggest issue I have is with Alex’s mother. I feel like Alex’s mom’s shift of alcoholism to seeking help is a bit rushed, wreck aside. It seems like she just completely decides to change without any other supporting context. But I think it’s a nice notion.
