The Secret History is one of those books that makes you remember why you love reading. This is a story that you will never forget. I promise that these characters will stick with you for a very, very long time. Tartt’s writing is so elegant and beautiful, I honestly got absorbed by the pages

Although this book can take awhile to get through, you find yourself unable to really put it down. I felt like I was transported into this story, these characters lives, and I couldn’t find a way or even a reason, to get out. At times, it felt slow because it’s taking you on a journey through someone’s memories. No matter how slow it got though, I never wanted it to end. I could read about these characters for the rest of my life. I need more. I want more.

I am literally in mourning. This book is tremendously sad but not in the way other books are. You won’t really understand what I mean unless you read it yourself. It just really left a big ache in my heart, like something had disappeared forever.
