Starlight Nights by Stacey Kade

5.0

So I won this book as a Goodreads Giveaway. It was one of the last ones I won before Goodreads got greedy and their giveaway program went all to crap. Thank goodness I won this book, because I don't know if I would have found it if I didn't.

This book was AMAZING. Out of the 306 books I've rated here on Goodreads so far, this is only the 16th 5-star rating I've given out... And it is a well-deserved pat on the back and gold star.

Sure, I wanted to punch both the MCs from time to time, just because they were so passive in their reactions to the machinations and meddling or their parental units, but at the same time, both Calista and Eric were REAL. Their motivations and reactions weren't forced like you see in so many romance books these days. Their angst was real and believable, but it didn't bog the book down into one big pity party like you usually see.

I also really enjoyed that the STORY came first in this book and not the sex, which was refreshing. Too often in romance titles these days if you removed the sex scenes, the plot would just fall to pieces. In this book if you took them out the story would hold up strong and lose nothing in the telling.

I'm definitely going to look for more books by Stacey Kade.
