Loved AKOSAS (book 1) and AKOBAB did not disappoint! Book 2 picks up right where the first book left off. There's not a whole lot of revisiting of info from the first book, so if you're like me and read this a few months after reading book 1, you might want to do back for a refresher on some of the background. I loved the expansion of Evren and Adara's circle with new characters and friendships being made.

As I kind of predicted, but had hoped not, Adara's feelings and mind are totally at war at the beginning with the revelation of who and what Evren is and about the Blood Kingdom's truths. I felt like her internal struggle went on just a tad bit too long considering all the events that had taken place up to that point and just thereafter, but she comes to it eventually. Once she does, things are just electric between them, which I loved and had been rooting for since early on in book 1, before the revelations. Evren's obsession with Adara is fabulous and the spice is great, but not all consuming. As with the first book, I think the ratio of plot to spice was done just right.

Loved the introduction to Thalia and Sorin. Their chemistry as a "couple" is so cute. I'm saying "couple" because while they are not technically together, you can feel that desire between them. I'd love to see their connection progress, so I hope they continue to have a decent role in book 3. Thalia herself is a badass and she does a great job of bringing Adara's badassery out as well. The growth of their friendship was very pleasant to read and I love that Adara has someone she can grow with besides just Evren. I love the relationship between Thalia and Evren and the devotion they have to one another as found family.

Of course the ending was extremely heart wrenching, and I am still questioning the authenticity of some of what went down. But I have a feeling that was anticipated and all will be revealed in book 3. My hatred of Gavril and his ilk was once again justified with this ending and I really hope it's a tag-team kill for Adara and Thalia, because that would be some sweeeet sh*t.

Definitely still recommending this series and excited for book 3 next Spring!
