Whoa! What a wild and wonderful ride this book is! Comparisons between Joe Hill and his father Stephen King are inevitable. Yes, the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree, but in this case, it's a WInesap tree and a Macintosh apple. Same general genre, perhaps, but Joe Hill is an amazing writer all on his own - equal but separate. NOS4ATU has humor, lots of action, no small amount of blood, and even a bit of romance - albeit rather unconventional. I didn't particularly enjoy the ending, but if it had ended differently, the book would not be quite as good as it is.
