This one was fairly typical of what I have come to expect from McFadden - sinister gaslighting. The plot twists were pretty easy to figure out because there was a lot of heavy foreshadowing, but it was still fun to unknot them along with the protagonist.
I would've given it a different ending, and I might've made the husband a more dynamic character. Instead, he was very vanilla and kind of stupid as far as math professors go. He was more akin to the dumb jock stereotype. But I suppose he needed to be in order for Monica to be the person she was in this story.
I also would've given Monica a different ending. Really question this choice by McFadden. Otherwise, an easy and entertaining enough of a read. Would be fun if there was a sequel giving us David's story.
