Loving A Vampire Is Total Chaos by Aura Hayes
Did not finish book. Stopped at 44%.

The writing is not for me. It’s very outdated with cheesy dialog and cringe humor. Idk what they were trying to emulate, but this isn’t funny and it’s trying way too hard. The tone will give you whiplash. The FMC is unbearable. The MMC acts like a toddler. Entire pages dedicated to describing clothes, makeup, hair. The MMC only ever describes how physically attracted to the FMC he is; his inner monologue is entirely focused on her looks only.
Just so cringy.
Exhibit A:
The FMC just had a traumatic experience with her father who has dementia and her best friend says this:
"I knew today was that day of the month, so I wanted to stop by and check in. And I'm not talking about your period."
Absolutely atrocious. Totally inappropriate for the tone of the scene. Not to mention it has serious misogynist undertones.
Exhibit B:
“Our height difference doesn't help with me trying to be intimidating so I rip my finger out of his grip and pull a stool over to stand on top of it because I'm petty like that.”
This was mid-argument, mind you. She removed herself from his hold MID ARGUMENT to get a stool. My eyes almost rolled out of my head. Is the FMC 14? No, but she certainly acts like it.

“‘You. Called. Me. Zav.’ A girly sounding teehee comes out of his mouth and I roll my eyes.”
Just stop.
