10 Minutes 38 Seconds in this Strange World by Elif Shafak

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, despite the sad story that it revolves around.. It begins with the death of a prostitute, and I loved reading her memories as they flooded her dying brain during the last ten minutes of life. This is not a book I would ordinarily choose but it was a gift for my local book club secret Santa, and I am glad I received it! The language is beautiful and flows easily, the chapters are short and manageable, and while it portrays very deep, dark emotions and the ups and downs of human nature, it was a delight to read.
