Okay, I loved this one.
I guess it's because of the personality of the MC. She's the one telling the story. She's not naive and unbearably perfect as most heroes. Actually, she's rather evil. Intelligent evil.
The story it's about this girl (well, this half-demon girl) who has the need to eat souls, but decides to get only those from bad people. Because her mother would have liked it that way. When I read the plot, I feared I would find a clone from Dexter. It's not. I forgot about that at the first chapter. Meda's idea of survival it's totally different. She's strong, she gets what she needs and then she leaves. She wants to know about her kind. Maybe the idea of settle down it's a good far dream to her, but definitely not a priority.
I also loved the way the author described the different characters. There’s this war between good and evil. And the good guys are even cooler than the bad ones. Again, I didn’t have to roll my eyes thinking that they were too stupid to live.
My point here it’s that this book is fresh. I liked so much the characters that I even enjoy the (not really relevant) romantic part. And with the climax, I was blown away. It had been a while since last time I was so immerse into a book that the author took me by surprise with the main plot.
So I totally recommend it. I’m a bit sad because, since there’s not a Spanish version, I can’t tell everyone around me to read it. Also, since this is the first book that Eliza Crewe publishes, I’m looking forward to read her next works. I guess she’ll get better, so I’ll keep you updated! :)
