Sweet, Soft, Plenty Rhythm by Laura Warrell

challenging emotional reflective sad slow-paced
  • Plot- or character-driven? Character
  • Strong character development? It's complicated
  • Loveable characters? Yes
  • Diverse cast of characters? Yes
  • Flaws of characters a main focus? Yes
This provided us vignettes (in long chapters lol) from multiple perspectives of the women who were in some way involved with Circus (government name: Cyrus Palmer), the main character, a jazz musician who truly gives men a bad name ughhh -- for example, he leaves a woman the moment she tells him she is pregnant like WUT!?

This is slower-paced, filled with messiness & I wasn't satisfied with the ending but I do think the writing was beautiful!
