But the execution was very mid for me.
Romance kinda annoys me in general and insta-love is the worst of it. At least it was sapphic, but still. So much of the plot is moved by their love that it wouldn't make sense if they hadn't fallen, but it doesn't make sense that they did, because they barely know eachother. In some ways I think the message would have been more powerful if they actually didn't like each other, woman solidarity and such.
I don't know. I don't want to judge this without acknowledging that I realized too late that it was YA, and I was expecting something darker.
The social commentary was too unsubtle, and I don't think this was the revenge fantasy it wanted to be. The anger, though understandable and relatable, wasn't portayed believably imo.
The writing wasn't my favourite but it didn't suck.
